Residents of major highways in Ilorin metropolis on Saturday October 6th,2013 witnessed a carnival-like display as top management and staff of African Broadband Limited, owners of Royal FM95.1 Ilorin and Royal Times online newspaper,hit the streets for the second edition of Ride for Life cycling event. The non-competitive event, which featured selected of the general public,began at the early hours of Saturday from the popular Garin-Alimi Roundabout enroute General Roundabout, Unity road, Challenge junction, Ahmadu Bello way,Tanke junction, Tipper Garage before the terminal point at the international media center, Oke-odo. The founder and president of African Broadband Limited, Engr Gbenga Adebayo emphasized the need for regular fitness exercise as it a virile way of maintaining healty living among Nigerians. While thanking officials of the cycling Federation of Nigeria[Kwara state Chapter], Nigeria Police, Federal Road Safety Commision[FRSC], Kwara state Traffic Management Agency[KWASTMA],and the Nigerian Red-cross society for their logistical inputs, Engineer Adebayo revealed that plans are in the pipeline to make the event a periodic activity for the generality of the populace, certificate of participation were presented to officials and participants at ends of the exercise.
